Newcastle Bush Presentations and Park/Bush event - Blue Gum Hills RP, Minmi

DATE: Sunday 24 November 2024
STARTS: 4:00pm to 4:30pm (1 minute intervals)
PRESENTATIONS and PICNIC: from 5:00pm

DIRECTIONS: From Wallsend - follow Minmi Rd for approximately 7km then turn left into Blue Gum Hills Regional Park.
From Newcastle Link Rd - turn northeast at the traffic lights into Woodford St, towards Minmi. After 2km turn right into Minmi Rd, proceed 650m and turn right into Blue Gum Hills Regional Park.

ASSEMBLY/START/FINISH: Assembly is in the Picnic Area. Both the Start and Finish are adjacent to the Assembly.

NOTES:
Terrain - A mixture of park and bush. Leg cover recommended on the Long and Short courses if you want to avoid scratches.
Course Details - The Long and Short courses both utilise loops or 'pivot' controls. Make sure to check control numbers. The Long course has a map flip.

COURSES:
Long (Hard) - 3.1 km / 100m climb / 30 controls
Short (Hard) - 2.2 km / 70m climb / 22 controls
Mini (Easy/Very Easy) - 1.5 km / 40m climb / 17 controls

ENTRY FEES: FREE (registration on Eventor is still required).

RESTRICTIONS: Dogs, smoking and fires are prohibited from ALL parking, assembly and competition areas.

PRESENTATIONS: A celebration of the 2024 Bush Season will follow the event, commencing around 5:00pm. Presentations include the 2024 Newcastle Orienteer of the Year Series, State League and Junior awards, special club trophies and recognition of volunteers.
