QB3 - 28 year run comes to an end !

Monday, 21 June 2010

Eoin's 28 year run without a mis-punch came to an end at the QB3 sprint event. A deceptively tricky course around two school campuses was the taster before two days of great bush orienteering and Eoin wasn't alone in blowing out his three day result during the prologue.

For many runners the return to  Sappa Bulga wasn't assisted by lessons learnt on the first visit and day 2 saw more competitors fall by the way-side. Or just fall in the rough terrain.

Consistent performances across all three days were needed to win, and this time it was the Big Foot men who took out the major prizes, with Cohen Wisniewski winning the gold medal in M10, whilst Mark Freeman held off some strong competition to win M40 and Andy Simpson had an easier win in M45 as his rivals succumbed to the rocks.
