SOS Newcastle 2 - Callaghan Wall...
Event Date: 2022-05-21
At: Wallsend
Club: Bold Horizons
SOS is back in Newcastle for one term only in 2022.  Events run from 14 May to 25 June, 2022  There's an individual race plus a relay each week, so grab some mates and come on an adventure with us.

Pre-entry via Eventor closes at 12pm on the Thursday before each event. Late entry is available via the Bold Horizons website but please enter by midday Thursday if possible as maps are not guaranteed for late entries.

The Newcastle Orienteering Club helps us out with this Series.  As well as the Bold Horizons team, club members will be on hand to answer questions and assist anyone new to orienteering.

Event Date: Saturday 21 May 2022

Venue: Callaghan College - Wallsend Campus (80/82 Macquarie St, Wallsend NSW)

Access:  Access to the orienteering event will be from Kenrick St.  Parking will be available within school grounds.  The school is a polling booth for Saturday's election.  The Macquarie St school gate access to the hall is likely to be busy with election day foot traffic.  We recommend avoiding this area unless you are also voting.  Run and then vote or vote first and then have a run?

Start Window: 9:30am to 11am (you can start any time within this time window)

Courses: Warm Up, Short Line, Long Line, and Score.  If it's your first time, we recommend starting out with the Warm Up and you will quickly get the idea of what to do. After that, if you want more, the event team will help you register on a second course for the morning (there's no charge for the second course).  There's more information on courses available on the Bold Horizons ( Saturday Orienteering Series page.  Each week, there will also be a relay starting around 11am.  Two or three people per team are recommended.

Groups: Families and friends are very welcome to complete a course as a group.  If participating as a group, kindly enter at least one member of the group for a paid or host school student ticket.  Each of these entries entitles that person to a course map, timing chip and recorded result.  Accompanying family members and friends who do not need a map, timing chip or recorded result should kindly register as Group Members.
